Hey Everyone!

Discovered Masago via the The Webcomic List ad you have at the top. I then went on a 3 day reading binge and read the whole thing from beginning to end.

All I can say is - great job man. At first it was just your "Love Hina"-like art style that attracted me to the comic. "After all", I thought, "how much fun could a restaurant webcomic be?" But your stories got me hooked. Man, you really threw me for a curve when Rei beat Jen to nab Jak! And then her being married!

You have me hooked! Which, of course, made me dissapointed when they moved to only twice a week. (But twice is better than never) Keep 'em coming.

Forum: New Members!

You gotta keep going man!

David,

I signed up for this forum for one reason and one reason alone -- to tell you to keep going! I am so into Masago that I've read through the entire comic from beginning to end over the past three days. Your last few blog posts made it seem as though you were perhaps giving up because of real life. Don't do it! If you need to - take a week off from making Masago. But please keep it going. There's still so much to find out about! Are baldy and Courtney ok now? What is going to happen with Rei? What perverted thing is the glasses guy going to come up with now? (I'm horrible with names - even in real life) What is Marlo's job?

At the very least - don't leave without resolving things. It'd be like a show getting cancelled midseason and leaving everything open. And we need more compilation books. I want to own the entire comic on paperback! Check out lulu.com for books you can publish without an upfront cost.

Forum: General Discussion

*takes a seat and drinks his A&W root beer*
Whoo! It's good to be back.

As far as the Wallet storyline goes, it deserves a round of applause for we got to see Jen using her Pepper-Spray-Jitsu on the bad guys and Jak using his Getting-In-The-Way-Jitsu. lol.

The Tipping/Saw storyline was indeed a twist. Who would have though that Jimmy would look better as a puppet.
Types of customers

I am here to vent stories I have as a cashier/counter in a hybrid pastry shop/restaurant.

Please tell me if the stories are familiar to you and that there's already an episode on it. I'd like to print them for my co-workers.

Once in a while, I serve customers who want takeout besides pastries. Most customers are simple to handle, ordering what's written on the menu and pointing them for me to see as I don't know the menu very well. Some customers have some specific things they ask for like no peanuts, no bell peppers or less fries, no problem, it's quite understandable and within the kitchen's power. Finally, there's the asshole customers who practically change the entire menu to suit their taste, hate the restaurant but never said it in our face and keep come back to torment us/me.

I've got one customer on my third week of work who asked to change the bread of a sandwich because it's too hard on her husband and wants only what she wants in it. I spent more than 3 minutes putting her "special order" and then reviewing the order with her just to make sure it's right. Some time later, she called on the phone saying that the sandwich isn't what she asked for and decided to order another one. She came back and said that the meat is too burnt. It's a freaking roast beef sandwich, that's how it's done! Anyways, she got her second sandwich and I am stuck paying for it. Damn bitch!

While entertaining customers of the various pastries the restaurant serve, most customers asked good questions like what's this ch332ecake? Can you tell me all these ch33s3cakes? Which ch33s3cake do you recommend? Some ask questions that made me question their intelligence: "Is this one good?" times 5 or me in a clear voice after noticing her blond intelligence:"is it for here or to go?" customer: "you want us to go?". "Does this cake taste good?" Of course, it tastes good that's why it's here!

Some customers lack any decision-making abilities, notably young couples, female teenagers, and groups three or more customers. The young couples fight amongst themselves, never considered my opinion and waste my time and customers who are waiting in line. The older couples in comparison take much less time to decide on a cake and have a better understanding of each other. Even kids know which cake they want to eat. The rare male customers took only 30 seconds for them to make up their minds. Undecided ones were easy to manipulate since I tell them which cake to eat, although selling a carrot cake was the hardest of all.

I've got four cases of female teenagers who change their minds on their order: Case 1: girl with a freakish hairstyle who kept sending the cakes back saying it's the wrong one, even if it's the one she so pointed her finger at. Case 2: Young adult who changes her mind whenever I'm about to enter her order. Case 3: Three teenagers who asked a cake and change their mind, despite my attempts to make them reconsider, I mean that cake came out of the fridge for you girls! Case 4: Young adult who speaks so quietly, even after I asked to speak more loudly, and changes her mind on her order, thus ruining a good cake (one side of it was partially ruined by me).

Then I have the bluetooth customers, although this could be a bias of my own. But I'll say it anyway. Bluetooth customers act very bitchy and dismissive towards me and the counter staff, it's as if they have a lot of money and I don't.

Well that's it for today. I've got work now.

Forum: General Discussion
